We have created a collaborative approach to tutoring which maximizes the advantages that individual lessons can provide. Rather than simply introducing a student to a tutor, first, we identify exactly where a student needs support and then equip the tutor with the materials and approach required.
Getting Started
Students start with an academic interview and assessment to evaluate their needs: This measures the student's current level in their chosen subject(s). This assessment and interview process allows us to understand:
The student's level in a subject
Personality and preferences
Strengths and weaknesses
Language proficiency
Approach to study
After the interview, we produce an academic assessment report & recommended study plan to achieve the identified goals.
Lesson Structure
Our Lessons are structured to guide students at an accelerated pace, but not at the cost of enjoyment. There is no single approach that suits all students but there are some common areas of focus:
-
Expansion of Vocabulary
-
Extended Project Work
-
Computer Literacy
-
Development of Writing Skills
-
Guided Reading
Technology
Digital literacy is an educational priority. Our approach familiarizes students with the latest tools and gives students a learning environment that is secure and easy to use. In addition the study skills which Arrow students learn can be applied to their wider education and improves their overall performance.
